After a hard-fought legislative session defending trans rights and fending off discriminatory anti-LGBTQ legislation, we can't wait to celebrate Pride with our LGBTQ+ friends and allies this summer. ACLU of Alabama staff will be out in force, attending pride events across the state and celebrating our vibrant LGBTQ+ community.
While we do attend many Pride fests, we may not be present at all of them. The below information is provided for the community. Look for the ACLU of Alabama banner at the pride festivals. We are also hosting the 2025 Black Queer Visionaries Summit (BQVS) in Birmingham with the Knights and Orchids Society this October! This transformative event is open to all Black queer individuals in the South, regardless of experience or background. BQVS offers a unique opportunity to connect, celebrate, and create change through hands-on workshops, wellness sessions, and community-building activities. Whether you're looking to learn, share your vision, or find a supportive community, BQVS is the place to be. Help us shape a brighter future for Black queer communities in the South!
