This bill would simplify and expand the process of obtaining voter rights restoration by:
- removing the process of applying to the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles for a Certificate of Eligibility to Register to Vote,
- eliminating the requirement of paying fines and fees to regain the right to vote, and
- expanding eligiblity requirements for the restoration of voting rights.

This bill was introduced by Rep. Laura Hall on February 2, 2021 and assigned to the House Constitution, Campaigns and Elections Committee.
