This bill provided state-funded legal defense attorneys to fetuses of minors seeking an abortion without parental consent. The bill passed state Congress during the 2014 legislative session, and went into effect on July 1, 2014. The ACLU of Alabama has filed a lawsuit, Reproductive Health Services v. Strange, to challenge this law.
