Senate Bill 108 — which would restrict the ability of Alabama cities to pass sanctuary laws — was passed out of a legislative committee yesterday. It now moves to the floor in the Alabama Senate, which could debate it as early as Tuesday, February 18th. If it passes in the Senate, it will move to the Alabama House. If passed there, it would then be sent to the Governor to be signed into law.

We have to stop this, but we need your help.

Email your local elected officials today and ask them to oppose SB 108.

Dear [RECEIPIENT's TITLE] [RECEIPIENT's LAST NAME],
As an Alabamian, I do not support SB108, the bill that would make it a crime for public officials and agencies to limit or restrict the enforcement of federal immigration or state law. Law enforcement priorities should be decided locally, not in Montgomery or D.C.. I trust municipalities to better understand how their limited resources should be used, and I don't want to put cities and counties at risk for costly lawsuits for holding people unlawfully on immigration detainers. Please speak out against this bill.
Sincerely,
[SENDER's FIRST & LAST NAME], [SENDER's HOMETOWN]
